OUR TRAINING STRUCTURE

Every course has three parts:

 

1. Indoor Training

This is fixed three months training period; each trainee will attend class to learn how to link manual design and calculations taught in college with useful CAD trending technologies in every course we offer. This training provides an in-depth concentration on project delivery, doing exercises, and assignments.

 

2. Project design study and presentation

This is where each trainee accepts a real-life project as a case study in three months that can be extended due to kind of a project. S/he studies it from scratch under the supervision of experienced trainers. Completing this project confirms that s/he has attained the competency we promise and turns what was learned in the training portion of the course has been transformed into real practices.

 

3. Expert Seminar

We know that Rwanda or developing countries in general import many knowledgeable people to run most of the projects raise. An Industry-Based Training Institution working in the skills development sector, we did not like that idea of governments to import skills to do the work. That is why every year we organize one-week expert training seminar in every course we train. It is for importing world-level experts to highly train our local professionals instead of importing them to lead projects to raise in our country and keep our local citizens lowly paid or unemployed.

COURSE CHAPTERS & REQUIREMENTS

Architectural Designing

Learn about the design of classic and contemporary buildings, and discover how architecture is a creative discipline and art form, which is also a concept that focuses on components or elements of a structure.
This course is designed to help architects and professional designers develop their skills in dedicated software packages used while delivering a related project.

The course has been designed for architects and other architecture practitioners with construction-related certifications. It requires you to have a complete understanding of technical drawings, as taught in traditional technical schools.

Requirement: To own at least advanced diploma in architecture or own at least advanced diploma in civil engineering with two years of experience in architecture CAD practices.

These are what we will cover in Architectural Designing course:

  • General Introduction to architecture market
  • Architectural Project 2D Detailing and Documentation by AutoCAD
  • Architectural Project 3D Modeling and Construction documents production by ArchiCAD.
  • Architectural graphics presentation by Inand Illustrator
  • Advanced Real-Time Visualization and rendering by Twinmotion
  • Kigali Masterplan zoning, online plot analysis and use of eBPMIS for construction permit application.

Requirement: To own at least advanced diploma in civil engineering with deep understanding of manual calculation and analysis.

Structural Engineering

Learn about the design and analysis of buildings, and discover how structural engineering is both a scientific discipline and logical form. Which is also a sub-discipline of civil engineering in which structural engineers are trained to design the ‘bones and muscles’ that create the form and shape of manmade structures.

In this course tackle the design and analyze structures from a to z for both simple and complex buildings. It is designed for civil and structural engineers only — it requires you to have completed theoretical courses, and manual calculations taught in colleges; advanced math or engineering prerequisites are also needed.

  • General Introduction to Structural and Analysis.
  • Structure design, analysis and detailing of some elements in a reinforced concrete structures by ProtaStructure + Prota-Details
  • Structure design, analysis and detailing of some elements in steel and timber structures by Prota-Steel + Prota-Details
  • Structural design, analysis and detailing of some elements in a load bearing structures by ProtaStructure + Prota-Details
  • Earthquakes and wind design considerations and analysis by Prota-Structure

Construction Management

Learn about the planning, costing and management of construction projects, and discover how project management is a professional service that provides a project’s owner(s) with effective management, what we teach here is compatible with all project delivery methods in engineering sector.


This course is designed to help engineers, managers and professional site supervisors develop their skills in dedicated software packages used while planning and managing a related project.

Requirement: To own at least advanced diploma in any engineering option with approval of two years of experience in job.

These are what we will cover in Construction Management course:

  • Introduction on project plan (documents needed, goals and strategies)
  • BoQs preparation and Project Costing (preparing excel template and take offs by PlanSwift)
  • Project planning, scheduling and preparation of WBS by MS Project
  • Critical path calculations, project milestones and resources identification plus risk analysis by MS Project
  • Tracking and finalizing project plan by MS Project
  • Contract management and preparation of tender documents
